jmbl3: Replacement Jar Lid.

Dayak (probably Kenyah). Sarawak State, Borneo Island, Malaysia.
Wood, pigments. H: 8" (20.3 cm), W: 7.5" (19.1 cm), D: 4" (10.2 cm).
Wood lid with stylized dragonheads, used as a replacement for a missing ceramic lid on a large heirloom trade jar "martavan".

Ex: Fred Wessman collection, Houston, TX.
Mr Wessman was a geophysicist working for Exxon in Sarawak during the late 1960s and collected numerous Dayak artifacts at that time.
