4390: Skull Hook.
Ibanic Dayak complex. West-Central Kalimantan, Borneo Island, Indonesia.
Bronze. Full H: 13.5" (34.3 cm), figure/hook section L: 7.5" (19.1 cm).
A rare bronze hook for hanging trophy skulls. Above the four hooks are four bird figures,
two that represent hornbills with clear casks and two that represent other omen birds, possibly hawks.
There are two double curls above the birds that may represent leeches.
The hook is not mounted, but was photographed clamped to a horizontal bar from the top of the stem.
