Kayan or Bahau Dayak. East Kalimantan, Borneo Island, Indonesia.
Wood, paint, rattan, goat hair, mirrors. H: 15.25" (38.7 cm), W: 17.75" (45.1 cm), D: 7.5" (19.1).
Without a custom mount, but one can be provided for an extra cost.

Classic style of Kayanic ceremonial dance mask that blends the attributes of the hornbill and dragon.
Masks of this type were used in ceremonies to envoke spiritual protection of the rice harvest
and to welcome important guests to the village.
