Kenyah Dayak (reported to come from Agabag sub-group, near Kayan River). East Kalimantan, Borneo Island, Indonesia.
Agarwood. H: 10.5" (26.7 cm), W: 9.5" (24.1 cm), D: 6" (15.2 cm).
Wood mortar with motifs of godly figures and dragons.
Agarwood is used to make containers to hold medicine and can be burned like incense. Using this wood for the mortar would enhance its medicinal power.
