2135: Baby Carrier Beaded Panel.

Kenyah Dayak. East Kalimantan, Borneo Island, Indonesia.
Glass seed beads, sisal thread. H: 11" (27.9 cm), W: 12.5" (31.8 cm).
The beaded panel is considered a talismanic amulet with protectiive motifs that is meant to protect the "sacred bundle" and denotes the statue of the family.
Motifs of dragons, hornbills, ancestral figures, and other important figures are reserved for the highest caste noble families.
This motifs on this panel represent a godly face in the center, surrounding by a pair of tigers (naturalistically rendered), and at least eight stylized dragons.
